This is a space for you.
You want to cut through the overwhelm you’re experiencing day in and day out, to rediscover that sense of connection or joy that you feel is missing in life. You’ve tried to break old patterns and stop those cycles of overthinking and self-doubt, but you are starting to think you might need some help to make it happen.
I’m Allison Johnson-Gierth, a licensed therapist in Sacramento who helps adults and couples make sense of the past, ground themselves in the present, and feel hope for the future.
How I Work
My job is to help you first identify your needs and goals, and then to work from there. If you’ve been to therapy in the past, it may have been very structured or rigid. While this can be a great fit for some people, my approach is more fluid: I am trained in various modalities (check out Trainings & Methods below) that allow me to customize your therapy experience based upon your unique needs.
I also work from a trauma-informed perspective. This is useful whether you have experienced trauma or not -- it means we’ll look at the bigger picture of what helped you become who you are and why you have the reactions or tendencies that influence how you feel today. We’ll also explore and process the mind-body connection, helping you tune into what your physical body is telling you along with your thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and actions.
Therapy should be a place you’re 100% comfortable being 100% you.
More than anything, you want to be seen, supported, and understood for who you really are. In therapy, that’s exactly what you’ll find … so that you can take that inner strength and newfound courage out into every area of your life.
I offer a warm, safe, approachable, and supportive place where you can show up as your true self and work to create the life you want.
